As you wait for the bus please help yourself to the games in the Outfitter park or relax on our patio. The bus driver will announce the departure of the trip. After a 10-minute drive you will arrive at the river.
Once at the river, you will be assigned a guide and you’ll be fitted fora PFD (Personal Floatation Device). We try and keep groups together whenever possible. Boats can hold from 6 to 9 paddlers depending on water levels and your group. low water will dictate lighter rafts reducing the number of paddling positions. Our lead guide will split groups at the river if needed for safety.
As the rafts drift away from the boat ramp, your guide will go over paddling commands, how to stay in a raft and other pertinent safety information. They will point out wildlife, tell stories and position the boat for the most strategic water fighting assault.
There are 2 practice rapids prior to the main event. You will splash and giggle through a class 1 and a class 2 while the guide makes last minute adjustments. Now it is time for the class 3’s! The rapids of Big Eddy are named “Kenmore”, “The Knotch”, “Souse Hole”, “Three Stooges” and “Ol’ Stogie”.
In the heat of the action while getting splashed from all sides, we hope you give your biggest smile for the photographer who is lurking on the bank trying to capture the evidence of who is paddling and who is holding on.
After you have conquered the rapids your guide will play games, let you swim, and of course let the adventurous “ride the bull”!
